LCC Meeting Attendance Policy
LCC Monthly Au Pair Meeting Policy
Please take note of the LCC monthly au pair meeting policy. The following information should clarify for everyone what the meeting attendance policy is.
There will be a LCC au pair meeting scheduled each month of the year. They are posted on my website http://www.krelstab.aupairnews.com. These meetings could be a social activity, a Continuing Education program unit or just a general get-together; it could be in the afternoon or the evening depending on the nature of the activity. There may be times when you all go out to a restaurant, or attend a sports event. Be prepared that you may be required to contribute $5 to $10 per meeting if an activity is arranged. This is a great time for socializing, meeting other au pairs and good opportunity to know your LCC better. Please take note of the dates and times of these meetings and mark your calendars. This is the meeting I prefer that you attend. I’m asking for your time one day out of the month and you are required as a participant in the au pair program to attend one group meeting a month, so please treat meeting attendance seriously!
I do know that things can come up, though, so I will try to have a make-up meeting occasionally when I can. So in case you are unable to make the scheduled LCC au pair meeting due to prior vacation plans, school, visits from family, school, illness or having to be on-duty, you may still have the opportunity to attend a meeting. If you tell me you are missing the regularly schedule meeting for any of these reasons, I will need confirmation of this from your host family. I will not allow you to make up the meeting without a good reason! Make - up meetings are not an excuse to miss the regular monthly meeting-they are simply being offered as an option in emergency situations. I cannot plan two separate activities each month, so the make-up meeting will simply be an opportunity for me to touch base with you. Please let me know as early as possible if you cannot attend the regularly scheduled LCC aupair meeting, so I can see if I can allocate time on my schedule for a make-up LCC au pair meeting that month.
The make-up LCC au pair meetings may be held in my home, or at the Starbucks in Libertyville, Lake Forest, Gurnee, or Lake Bluff.
I will try and announce if there will be a make up LCC au pair meeting for a particular month (its date, time, location) prior to each regularly scheduled meeting.
My LCC Au pair meetings are now posted on the calendar page on my website. http://www.krelstab.aupairnews.com It is your responsibility to write them down and schedule them into your month! You should not make plans with your friends or plan to be out of town, etc. on those days.. MEETINGS ARE MANDATORY and need to take priority over your social calendar! Au Pair friends are always invited to attend!! You will also be asked to RSVP for each meeting and let me know if you are or are not attending, so I will know if I need to be available for a make-up meeting that month. I will follow up with your host families if I do not hear from you by the RSVP deadline!!
If you cannot make it to the meeting(s) that I have scheduled for the month you will have an unexcused absence. You are only allowed 2 absences throughout the course of your au pair year. Failure to attend at least 10 meetings during your year means you have not fulfilled the au pair program requirements and may result in: (1) losing the opportunity to extend for a second year (2)being ineligible to have your deposit refunded when you get back home (3) Cultural Care not arranging/paying for your return flight home.
If you are unsure of how many meetings you’ve attended, you need to ask me.
It is also your responsibility to keep track of the meetings you do and do not attend. You will also need to track why you missed the meeting.
If you do not arrive on time and stay for the entire meeting, it will be an unexcused absence!!!
If you have any questions about this, please ask!
