June LCC Meetings

The mandatory June LCC meeting is Saturday June 20, 2009. We are marching in a group in the Libertyville Days Parade. We will be meeting at 9 AM SHARP!! at the Libertyville Metra Train Station in downtown Libertyville.
YOU MUST WEAR YOUR CULTURAL CARE TEE SHIRT!!!
Unless you have a costume from you home country or tee shirt representing your country flag.
I need to know asap if you are attending and what you will be wearing. I also need some volunteers to help with the planning of this event. So call me if your are interested.
The second LCC meeting is Wednesday June 17, 2009. This is a optional meeting for you to make up for meetings that you have missed in the past. We will be attending the Cuneo Gardens ABBA Salute Band Concert On The Lawn. Gates open at 5:30 PM. Concert begins at 6:30. The cost per car is $12 (cash only), so be sure to ride with friends and fill the car. You can bring food and beverages. You will also need to bring a lawn chair or blanket. Please wear your Cultural Care tee shirt. Please let me know ASAP if you are attending.

LCC Meeting Libertyville Police Station May 23, 2009

Officer Andy from the Libertyville Police Department guided our group through a tour of the police station, which included the 911 center, booking room, jail cells, police cars, swat suv, finger printing station, detective area, and then gave us a presentation on personal safety for ourselves and the children we care for.
Office Andy has been a police office for 10 years, and had lots of information to share with us. Although she is only around 5″ tall and around 100 pounds she also does self defense training for women and shared some of her knowledge with the group. She has offered to do self defense classes for the female au pairs, so we will be scheduling those in the near future.
