Valentines Day Host Family Event

Host parents and au pairs enjoyed a Valentines Day Tea at the Gurnee Antiques Center on the afternoon of Sunday February 10. They participated in a quiz about antiques (see attachment and see if you know the answers). The first, second, and third place winners received certificates for a prize of their choice from Karen’s Kollectibles (a dealer at the antiques center). Runners up received antique cup/saucer/silver demitasse spoon sets, and a imported French sache and soap. A basket of spa items was raffled off. The winner was Mariana, a new au pair from Brazil that had just arrived the previous Friday. Valentines day desserts were served. Everyone enjoyed the day shopping, meeting other families and au pairs, while the extreme winter weather hit record 35 below with the wind chill factor. Photos by Bob Relstab.
